A cruise through Bacungan River takes you to appreciate old-growth mangrove forests and its ecological significance, through educational lectures prompted by local guides. Crabbing, catching oyster and tamilok, and fishing are other activities offered by the San Carlos community members, who manage the entire mangrove area.
Aided by the ABS-CBN Foundation, the project to develop San Carlos/ Bacungan River for eco-tourism was spearheaded by Gerry Ortega and the community members of San Carlos for local income generation.
